There are pleasant walks from Piran to the nearby Fiesa and Strunjan valleys. You can visit the outdoor exhibition of Forma Vivo sculptures or walk along the Portorož Promenade.

If you want to go further inland, we recommend the one-day excursions through typical Istrian villages (Hrastovlje, Koštabona, Krkavče, Grožnjan, Oprtalj, Motovun, Buje).

There are also excursions to Izola where you can admire its picturesque harbour or to Koper, including wine-tasting at a local wine cellar.

If you want to see fascinating Karst features under the ground, we can take you by coach to visit the Postojna and Škocijan Caves, including a visit to the Lipica stables.

The Solinarka boat will take you to the Sečovlje saltpans. You will visit the salt fields and museum with its interesting collection of articles and pictures showing how salt-workers lived in the past. 

An extra special treat is to take a plane from Portorož Airport and discover the panorama from the air.

Our hotel also organises special visits for those interested in churches and religious monuments. In cooperation with the local parish we arrange guided tours of the churches in Piran. The multivision presentation in the Minorite monastery of St. Francis is worth seeing as it graphically reveals hidden features of Piran and the history of the monastery. We also take our guests to the only pilgrimage church in Strunjan – the Church of St. Mary’s Apparition, and then in Koper to the Romanesque Cathedral and  the modern St Mark’s Church with its splendid mosaic by Dr Rupnik.
